Vendor Management Best Practices Survey Offers Company Assessment and Comparison for Retailers

Release Date:

Wilsonville, Ore. - March 22, 2006 - Corrigo, Inc., the leading provider of on-demand building service management solutions, continues to advocate best practices in facilities maintenance by sponsoring a series of Best Practices Surveys in 2006. The first, the Vendor Management Best Practices Survey, targets retailers and restaurants nationwide. Retail businesses can assess their vendor management practices and receive a benchmark report that compares their company's responses to the average responses of all respondents. A summary report with trends analysis will be provided at the conclusion of the survey.

The survey and follow-up benchmark report will focus on three key areas relating to vendor management:

  • Current Vendor Practices - assessing current abilities to proactively manage key vendor performance areas.
  • Best Practices - comparing a company's adoption of best practices, such as vendor performance scorecards, work order cost and time completion comparisons, automatic creation and tracking of vendor service warranties, and automatic work dispatching and notification system.
  • Potential for Improvement - company-specific analysis for each survey participant that focuses on the bottom-line impact of improvement on specific areas covered in the survey.

Best practices in vendor management are becoming increasingly important to retailers and restaurants as they strive to reduce operating costs and increase efficiencies in increasingly competitive markets. The survey will give participants an idea of which best practices are being adopted by the retail industry, which are gaining recognition, and which still need attention. Survey participants will also benefit from specific ideas and recommendations on how to help the facilities part of the business contribute to bottom line reductions in operating costs.

The survey, available through the Chain Store Age website (www.chainstoreage.com) or Corrigo (www.corrigo.com), will run from March 24 through the end of May. Results of the Vendor Management Best Practices Survey will be published in early summer.
